Stones Throw Records is a label responsible for many classic albums from underground artists, including Madlib, MF DOOM and of course J Dilla. Founded in 1996, it's built a well-respected reputation of putting out high quality rap from oft-slept-on MCs.
Recently a documentary was made centered around the label, "Our Vinyl Weighs A Ton: This Is Stones Throw Records." The film includes never-before-scene archival footage, exclusive interviews with the artists of the label and much more. However, in the above video, we get some special outtakes from the documentary, titled "The B-Side: Extra Special Loving For The People."
In the 28-minute clip, we get to hear from the likes of Madlib, who speaks on MF DOOM, and Kanye West, who speaks on the legendary J Dilla and says he needs some Madlib beats for his next album(!) "Now that you brought this up, we gotta get some more Madlib beats for the next projects," Yeezy says (21:44 mark).
