The Roots' new album, …And Then You Shoot Your Cousin, began streaming earlier this week ahead of its May 19th release date, and now the group has shared a video from the project. The "Understand" clip features some slick stop-motion animation -- watch it above.
Featuring no actual humans, the video begins with a self-playing organ and goes on to include a shapeshifting clay face, in keeping with the song's subject matter about the mysteriousness of God's face. Elsewhere, a figurine made out of 100 dollar bills runs amok. As stop-motion is one of the most time-consuming methods of filming, the "Understand" video seems liek it was quite an undertaking, but it certainly paid off with a dope, inventive video.
