Common is all about the Chi these days, after revealing his forthcoming album would be centered around the violence from Chicago (titled Nobody's Smiling) and dropping tracks like "War", plus, we found out this past week he would be teaming up with Kanye West for a new initiative in order to provide 20,000 Chicago youths with employment.
He talks about that new initiative in the above clip from CNN, as well as his appearance in the series "Chicagoland", and wanting to reach out to the Chicago youths.
He says, "It's my duty to reach out to young people in Chicago, it's my way of giving back. 'Cause I've been afforded a chance to go out and live out my dreams, and I'm still dreaming. I wanna inspire and open up the gateways for the younger people in Chicago to go live their dreams."
