A couple days ago we reported that the parent company of California soul-food chain Roscoe’s Chicken N Waffles had declared bankruptcy. They’re sitting on a sizable debt of at least $10 million and up to $50 million, with less than $100,000 in assets. That’s a pretty sizable hole to dig out of, even with the help of a bankruptcy declaration. However, there might be help on the way in the form of one Snoop D-Oh-Double Gizzle.
TMZ caught up with Snoop Dogg coming out of a nightclub yesterday evening, and asked him about the chain that he once filmed a TV segment at with Larry King. Snoop clowned on the TMZ reporter for a minute (we’d love to see more of that, by the way), but was legitimately taken aback when he heard about the bankruptcy. His mood immediately goes from joking to serious, and he asks, “Bankruptcy, Roscoe’s? No they didn’t?”
Snoop quickly regains his composure, and half-seriously declares: “I guess I’m gonna have to buy it, man, and name it ‘Snoop Dogg’s Chicken N Waffles’.” While Snoop may be joking, he is worth $125 million and could legitimately make it happen. Whether it would be a good business move is another story.
