It’s been long time coming since MIA break through the industry with her smash hit “Planes” back in 2008, but after 8 strong years in the game the Miami singer is ready to take a break & hang it up for a while. But before she “retires,” the UK singer has one last album to share with her fans, and that’s AIM, which dropped at midnight tonight on iTunes.
Laced with 17 tracks in total, the follow up to 2013’s Matangi features guest appearances from Skrillex, ZAYN, Diplo, and more. Here’s what MIA had to say about the album in a recent interview with BBC Radio 1, “It’s my last record so I wanted it to be happy... I wanna go and do some other stuff and take some time out."
Speaking on the album’s inspiration, MIA says… "I came out of a relationship and I had all of this time on my hands and nothing to do. This record kind of become that. It was just sort of me finding myself again and coming to terms with what your life is."
Having already heard singles like “Go Off” & “Freedun,” fans can now stream the album in its entirety thanks to the good folks at Spotify. Check it out (below) and show your support on iTunes.
