Earlier this week, Rage Against the Machine launched a new website prophetsofrage.com indicating that something is happening on June 1. A reunion tour, RATM fans hoped, or even an album -- the full band has not performed since 2011 or released an album since 2000.
According to Billboard, the website actually refers to a new supergroup comprised of three quarters of RATM -- guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk -- as well as Public Enemy's Chuck D and Cypress Hill's B-Real. Zack de la Rocha is not involved in the project. The supergroup's title refers to a Public Enemy song from the 1988 album It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back.
Prophets of Rage will reportedly debut at the Hollywood Palladium on June 3rd.
