Young Thug had a very strong 2015, delivering Barter 6, Slime Season 1, and Slime Season 2, a cohesive collection of projects the converted more casual fans into stans. His 2016 has been a little more scattered, with I'm Up and Slime Season 3 supplying many bangers, but not as strong as an album experience. Jeffery seems like the project that will bring everything together this year. the many snippets Thug has shared on Instagram have, at times, been jaw-dropping, and he's enlisted some trust-worthy collaborators to make sure this project is one to be remembered. It's coming later this month, so we've put together the small collection of info on the project in anticipation. Click through to take a look.
The Snippets Are Incredible
The snippets are incredible
Young Thug has been steadily previewing new material on his Snapchat and Instagram accounts, some of which has specifically been designated as Jeffery material, while others are more up in the air. On top of the recent wave of snippets, there are clips of songs that have been around a little longer without placement ("To The Moon"). We'll just have to see which ones make the cut and which are saved for Thug's debut album, Hy!£UN35. Considering how great most of these are, let's hope they end up somewhere.

It's Been Delayed
It's been delayed... or has it?
While originally scheduled to arrive on August 16th, Thug's Birthday, the project has seems to have been bumped a week and will now arrive on August 26th, according to Lyor Cohen's Snapchat. We can handle a week, but if there are any further pushbacks the #ThuggerHive might start getting impatient.
Curiously, Thug has continued to post the original date on his Instagram. Maybe we WILL be getting it on the 16th after all?
You can check out Thug's announcement, as well as his recent posts, below.
It's probably coming out on 300
After releasing I'm Up and Slime Season 3 as retail projects earlier this year, it wasn't immediately clear whether the rapper would be releasing JEFFERY through his label, 300, or as a traditional free mixtape. The 300 Twitter account still has yet to mention the project, but the recent announcement regarding its release date came from 300 founder Lyor Cohen. While it was originally set to drop on a Tuesday, Lyor suggests it will now arrive on a Friday, the typical time for albums to drop in the industry. All signs would be pointing to it being a 300 release, but Thug's recent Instagram posts that continue to refer to the release date as August 16th do contradict the idea.
Alex Tumay Is Mixing It
Alex Tumay is mixing it
Young Thug's Barter 6, Slime Season 1 and 2, and most recently, 21 Savage's Savage Mode have all been praised for their mixing, and they were all mixed by the same guy, Alex Tumay. The Atlanta-based engineer was absent from Thug's more recent projects, I'm Up and Slime Season 3, and many fans have been calling for his return. This week, he confirmed he'd be lending his touch to Jeffery.
TM88 and Wheezy are executive-producing
While London On Da Track is often credited as Thug's best collaborator, TM88 and Wheezy have each proven they could be deserving of the title. TM88 is responsible for Thug's breakout hit, "Donald Glover," of course, while Wheezy supplied the defining moments on Barter 6. The idea of the two working together to executive-produce Jeffery is certainly exciting news, and should ensure the production is taken in brave new directions.
