Fans have been patiently waiting of the release of Rae Sremmurd’s Sremmlife 3 project ever since the duo first hinted at it on Twitter back in April. In fact, back in July, Swae Lee said that the 3rd installment was “almost complete,” and fans should be expect it to be coming soon. "We got a whole Sremmlife 3 next project coming soon," said Swae. "We bout done with that mug already. Bout to wrap it up....We might just throw out some like, turn-up songs."
Unfortunately, no further details on the album have arrived since this announcement, outside their single “Perplexin' Pegasus,” but Swae Lee has definitely been in the studio working hard on new music.
Last week, Swae was spotted working with OVO affiliate Roy Woods on something new, and on Monday more footage of the Rae Sremmurd rapper previewing new music has surfaced online. In the short clip, Swae could be heard singing over an upbeat, thumping production, although it’s a little tough to make out what he’s actually saying it sounds catchy.
It’s unclear at the moment what the record is called or where it’ll live on, if it’s a Rae Sremmurd record or one of Swae’s upcoming solo cuts, but nonetheless it’s proof that new music is on the way.
This all surfaces on the heels of rumors that the two super stars, Swam Lee & Slim Jxmmi, were breaking up Rae Sremmurd, which thankfully won’t be happening. "Fake News!" said Jxmmi in response to a question about rumors of a Sremm split. "That was just a myth. We've got many, many, many more projects coming. Many more songs coming, many more features coming. It's just the beginning.”
