Back in 2015, French Montana and R&B diva Mariah Carey were seen working together in the studio with superstar Justin Bieber and producer Detail, but nothing ever came from it, until now that being. On Wednesday, news surfaced that R&B diva Mariah Carey was about to lend her vocals for an upcoming remix of the Swae Lee-assisted smash hit “Unforgettable,” off French’s latest album Jungle Rules.
Hours after the rumors surfaced, Mariah took to her Twitter account to confirm the collaboration, saying it would be dropping Thursday night at midnight. In addition, she also revealed that there will be an acoustic version of the remix that will be surfacing as well.
Leaving the same infectious, Menace-produced beat intact, Mimi can be heard singing the exact same catchy hook, dropping "It's not good enough for me since I been with you. It's not gonna work for you. Nobody can equal me ... I know.” Don’t worry Swae Lee fans, the Rae Sremmurd rapper is still on the remix.
The "Unforgettable" record has been French Montana’s biggest record to date, even bigger than his 2013 hit “Pop That” with Drake. It peaked at the number 3 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and currently sits at #4. With that being said, French Montana still had a hard time remembering the song’s producer earlier this month on "The Breakfast Club."
Following up Mariah’s feature on YG’s “I Don’t” record, preview the upcoming “Unforgettable” remix before it arrives in full Thursday night at midnight & share your thoughts on it (below).
In other related news, Mariah is currently working on a new album after breaking up with her latest boyfriend, Bryan Tanaka, back in April. “I am putting my heart and soul into making more new music,” said Mariah. “I am so thrilled for this next chapter and to continue working with, and for, everyone that I love." Stay tuned.
