Just one month after Kyrie Irving informed the Cleveland Cavaliers that he wanted to be traded, he got what he was looking for. Last night the Cavs agreed to trade Kyrie to the Boston Celtics in exchange for Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic, and the Brooklyn Nets' unprotected 2018 first round pick.

After acquiring the 25-year old 4x All-Star, Celtics president of basketball operations, Danny Ainge, praised Isaiah and Jae Crowder for playing a key role in the team's success. Per ESPN,

"This has obviously been a roller coaster of a day for us, trading away Isaiah and Jae and Ante, especially Isaiah and Jae, who have been such a big part of our team and our success and our Celtic culture as leaders of our team. Very, very difficult day," Ainge said. "At the same time, a very exciting time [to add] one of the best offensive players in the league."

The Celtics later shared on Instagram that Kyrie, who has three years and $60 million left on his contract, will be rocking #11 in green and white next season, as the #2 he typically wears is retired for Red Auerbach.

On the flip side, Isaiah Thomas, 28, is entering the final year of his contract and is coming off a season where he averaged 28.9 points and 5.9 assists over 33.8 minutes per game. He has spent the offseason recovering from a right hip injury that kept him on the sidelines for the final three games of the Eastern Conference Finals, but the Cavs reportedly have "no short-term concerns about his health."

Shortly after the trade was announced, players from around the league, as well as fans from both teams, were voicing their opinions on twitter including LeBron James. LeBron quote tweeted a video of a fan placing a "Thank You" note on a Cavs' Kyrie jersey, tweeting,

"That's the only way to be to the kid! Special talent/guy! Nothing but respect and what a ride it was our 3 years together Young Gode #Filayy"

Utah Jazz center, Rudy Gobert, chose to congratulate Isaiah Thomas on his new team by retweeting a tweet that I.T sent when the Celtics were pursuing his old teammate, Gordon Hayward.
