It was fun while it lasted.

Yesterday, rumors began to swirl that the tracklist for A$AP Mob's much anticipated Cozy Tapes Vol 2. had hit the internet, and it looked to be a star-studded affair. With guest appearances from Gucci Mane, Frank Ocean, Future, Travis Scott, 21 Savage, Migos, Dave East, Chief Keef, Schoolboy Q, Rich The Kid, & more, the project was beginning to look like a modern day 2001. Fans were quick to rejoice at the thought of an A$AP Rocky, ScHoolboy Q, & Tyler, The Creator joint. In fact, some of the combinations looked too good to be true.

And that's because, well, they weren't true. The news was broken by both A$AP Lou Banga and A$AP Ant via a pair of incredulous tweets, which surfaced late last night. Admittedly, the whole thing had us fooled, as the initial story was eventually propagated by several hip-hop news outlets. Ultimately, we apologize for helping to build false hype.

Still, that's not to say that Cozy Tapes Vol. 2 doesn't deserve hype. It's still going to be crazy, but perhaps with a less intriguing cast of supporting players. Hell, perhaps with a more intriguing cast of supporting players. It's hard to say, until an official announcement comes from someone with the word "A$AP" before their moniker. And while we mourn some of the tracks that may never be, it wouldn't be an album release without a good old fashioned fake tracklist rumor, would it?

If you simply can't wait till Friday for your next A$AP Mob fix, you can always peep the brand new collaboration between A$AP Ferg and Ski Mask The Slump God, "ILoveYourAunt." If that's not enough, both Ferg and Twelvyy have already dropped projects this month, and the Mob united for the Cozy Tapes Vol 2 cut "Feels So Good."
