In case you missed it, Jay Z revealed during his hour-long sit down with RapRadar over the weekend that he supported Lavar Ball & his son’s attempt at owning their own sneakers. In fact, Hov is such a fan that he actually bought three pairs of the ZO2’s, but like everyone else revealed he hadn’t received them yet.
“He may go about things wrong, he may have a big mouth. But I bought three pairs." Jay said. Why did I buy three pairs? That man has a vision of his own. Why wouldn’t I support him? Why wouldn’t I support him? He feels like he can move culture, and his son got a big enough name, and a big enough brand, that they can do it.”
On Monday afternoon, TMZ caught up with Lavar’s son & Lakers guard, Lonzo Ball, and was asked about his thoughts on Jay-Z’s support. While Lonzo didn’t say too much, he did say that he’s appreciative of the support.
“All I can so is thank you. I appreciate it.” Lonzo told the cameraman, before being asked about a possible future collab with Roc Nation Sports. “I just play basketball. I don't handle all that. Thats the brand’s job,” Zo added.
Lonzo, who could visibly be seen getting slightly more agitated with the questions, added that he hasn’t spoken to Jay Z personally, but did say he should be getting his sneakers in November. “They don’t come till November,” when Lonzo was told that Hov didn’t get the shoes yet.
Check out Lonzo’s exchanges (below) and let us know your thoughts on Hov’s support in the comments. In case you missed it the other week, NBA’s early predictions for next year’s awards were revealed, and unsurprisingly Lonzo has the best odds to be the Rookie of The Year with 9-5 odds.
