Good news in the land of Big K.R.I.T.
While the past year has been a virtual desert as far as new sounds go from the Mississippi-bred artist aside from a few guest appearances and a few drops, the drought is coming to a close as his new project has been confirmed as being completed.
It was Dutch Deniro, Big K.R.I.T.’s manager, who tweeted out in the simplest of terms that “Big K.R.I.T. album officially done and turned in.”
When prompted by a fan on who exactly the project was turned into, Dutch only responded with a shrugging emoji, maintaining the mystery surrounding the moves that K.R.I.T has been making as of late.
It was in October of last year that K.R.I.T. announced his departure from Def Jam Recordings in tandem with the release of his track “Free Agent.”
“What good is a team if they don't ball out with you? / Domino niggas they'll fall out with you / At the table with the majors they go all out with you / Til you're underground with it, they won't crawl out with you,” he spit on the track, signaling his new route in music.
The last time we got a studio album from him was in 2014 with Cadillactica while his last full-length project was 2015’s It’s Better This Way.
Earlier in the summer, fellow Southern rapper Bun B revealed that Krizzle would leading as “musical coordinator,” also known as an executive producer, of his forthcoming project.
"He’s been doing production on the album,” the OG told HipHop DX. “He’s been actually singing on the album, but more importantly, help to kind of craft a sound of my own.”
As of right now, no further information exists on when exactly the album will arrive or what the title of the project is.
