With his new mixtape, Still Striving, set to drop on all platforms tomorrow (August 18th), A$AP Ferg has compiled quite the list of musicians that he's worked with over the years. Including that new project, names that find themselves on his collab sheet include Big Sean, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Busta Rhymes, Chuck D, Future, Migos, Rick Ross, ScHoolboy Q and Snoop Dogg, just to name a few. And that's just over the course of eight years! The crew over at Sway In The Morning recently asked about the names that make up his current wish list when it comes to artists he'd love to work with. His answer contained some names that you might not expect.
"I would love to work with U2, I'd love to work with Seal," said Ferg. "I actually spoke with Seal about a year ago about, like, getting together and catching some vibes. He said he loves my music and this was around the time he was through stuff with his marriage." It would be interesting to consider names like those being able to link up with the rapper in the studio, mostly because both of them have some hip-hop experience under their belts. U2 had Kanye West open for them on their 2005-2006 Vertigo tour and have also worked with the likes of Mary J. Blige, among others. Seal is, of course, one of the most soulful voices from 90's-era R&B and would be a pretty fire inclusion as a vocalist over-top of a fire Ferg beat.
Still Striving is just part of the big roll out that the boys from the A$AP Mob crew will be experiencing in August Awgust. The group's upcoming mixtape, Cozy Tapes Vol. 2, is available for pre-order now and drops on August the 25th. The members of the collective all appeared on stage together during a recent episode of The Tonight Show, where they performed "Feels So Good" in front of an amped-up studio audience. Honestly, all this talk of crossover collaborating has got me really juiced to hear some more. U2, Seal - time to do the right thing, pick up the phone and make this happen.
