For all of the attention that the materialistic, gratuitous side of hip-hop culture gets in the news media on a daily basis, there are also many rappers and personalities out there who are stepping up big time. According to Atlanta's WSBTV, one of the emcees in that category is Big Boi.
The former Outkast member has stepped in to come to the aid of 5-year-old Abriya Ellison, who was paralyzed after being shot while playing in a bounce house. Big Boi is currently in the process of readying his Daddy Fat Saxxx Tour to support his most recent album Boomiverse, but he took some time to invite young Abriya to his studio and gifted her with a great present: a bulldog puppy, an animal that was bred at the rapper's Pitfall Kennels. The girl says that she'll name the dog King.
Abriya’s mother, Andreauna Douglas admitted that her daughter has wanted a dog for ages and now she has a pet that will serve as both a companion and a service animal. "I’ve been born ready for a puppy," Abriya said enthusiastically. What's more, Big Boi and his younger brother James, also known as Lil Brotha, will not only pick up the vet bills for the new puppy, but have also pledged to pay off the rest of Abriya’s GoFundMe campaign, a fundraiser that is going towards paying off her medical bills and making her family's washroom handicap accessible.
