J. Cole has never been one to shy away from positivity, and the 4 Your Eyez Only recently helped make a young fan's dream come true. If there's one thing pretty much everyone can agree on, it's that cancer sucks. In fact, that's an understatement. While so many people have been affected by the illness, it's always tough when it hits someone so young. Such is the reality for the Griffin family, including father Robert Griffin and his son Colin.
Colin, 13, was unfortunately diagnosed with stage four rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare type of cancer. As reported by Fox 46, Colin was a massive J. Cole fan, so his father Robert reached out to Cole affiliate Bas Collins via Twitter.
Bas replied, and helped organize the meeting between Colin and Cole. The meet and greet took place backstage, where Colin and J. Cole apparently spoke for over an hour about the rapper's influential and inspiring music. In fact, Robert revealed that when Colin told J Cole his music was an inspiration, Cole responded by saying "“no, you inspire me." Heartwarming stuff.
It gets better. When Colin complimented J. Cole's sneakers, Cole took them off, signed them, and gave them to Colin. Robert has since shared photos of the experience on Twitter, vowing that he and his son will defeat the illness. Mad props to J. Cole for this one.
