LeBron James and his business partner Maverick Carter have reportedly reached a development deal with HBO for an untitled half-hour single-camera comedy about a Los Angeles-based sneaker store.
According to Deadline, the show will be produced by LeBron and Maverick's SpringHill Entertainment.
Deadline also reports that the show will focus on two best friends, as well as their employees, at an up-and-coming sneaker shop outside of Los Angeles, where they take on the challenges associated with the crazy and obsessive sneaker culture.
The show will be written by Shawn Wines (High Maintenance) and Lemon Andersen (She’s Gotta Have It). Wines also executive produces with James and Carter, and Andersen is serving as a co-executive producer.
This won't be the first tv show venture for LeBron and Maverick Carter's SpringHill Entertainment. They've also developed Starz’s half-hour comedy Survivor’s Remorse, which will be entering it's fourth season on August 20th, and the popular NBA game show, "The Wall."
LeBron still has another month and a half to enjoy his offseason before NBA teams begin reporting to training camp, which should be an especially interesting time for the Cavs given all the Kyrie Irving drama this Summer.
