Calvin Harris is once again on top of the DJ world.

Scottish-born DJ Calvin Harris had himself another banner year.

According to the newest edition of Forbes' annual list of the highest-paid DJs in the world, Harris once again had the biggest financial intake of any DJ between June of 2016 and June of 2017. His earnings totaled $48.5 million on the strength of mid-six-figure fees for his Vegas appearances and seven-figure music festival fees. The totals don't take into accounts expenses for agents, lawyers and the like, but regardless, it's still a mightily impressive number. That, coupled with the fact that this is the fifth consecutive year that Harris has kept the crown as the highest-paid DJ in the world should tell you something about his consistency.

Other DJs who graced the list are Tiesto, David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Skrillex, Zedd and Steve Aoki. Of those names, more than a couple have begun to experiment with their crossover appeal, an area that Harris has excelled in for some time. His recent release, Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1, is chock full of collaborations from many big names in the hip-hop world, from Travis Scott to Lil Yachty and beyond. Steve Aoki tried something similar with his recent album Kolony, so it is perhaps a growing trend to watch among fans and decision-makers in the EDM music scene.
