One day after the Miami Dolphins officially signed Jay Cutler to a one-year $10 million deal, Spike Lee has announced he'll be holding a rally for free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick outside of the NFL Headquarters in New York City.
According to the image Spike tweeted out this morning, the "United We Stand" rally for Colin Kaepernick is scheduled for Wednesday, August 23rd at 5:00 pm.
Kaepernick has been a free agent since March 1st when he opted out of his contract with the 49ers but there is a belief he is being blackballed by teams across the NFL for his national anthem protests last season.
The Seattle Seahawks brought Kaepernick in for a visit earlier this offseason and the Baltimore Ravens have reportedly considered signing him but nothing ever materialized.
The 29-year old QB was 1-10 as a starter for the Niners last season, throwing for 2,241 yards, 16 touchdowns and four interceptions.
