Russell Simmons' Def Comedy Jam, the series that hosted the likes of Bill Bellamy, Bernie Mac, Dave Chapelle, and Katt Williams on its stage, will officially be returning this December in the form of the revamped All Def Comedy.

It was back in November of last year that we were treated to special airing of the comedy showcase, and now Simmons has made it official that the staple will be gracing the channel of HBO with its presence once more in a six-series run with comedian and actor Tony Rock taking the reins as host.

“I have witnessed firsthand how the most cutting-edge, seemingly alternative comics become the driving forces in mainstream comedy,” said Uncle Rush in a press release. “I’m thankful to HBO for allowing me to give these new voices access to mainstream audiences everywhere.”

Previously, we reported on the possibility of the show's counterpart Def Jam Poetry also making a return as All Def Poetry.

Simmons revealed that he was in negotiations for Chance the Rapper to host the variation. No word yet on those developments.
