Talk about making money off of what's trending.
According to The Key, New Jersey prog rock outfit named 4:44 have given all artists a lesson in shrewd marketing tactics by releasing an EP titled - you guessed it - Jay-Z. The project's cover art even includes the phrase "This is a shameless marketing technique," probably so that anyone affiliated with Roc Nation doesn't take the joke the wrong way.
Their music is more of the jam session variety, with a couple of the tracks being decent if you're into that vein of music. Hov and his reps haven't made an official response to 4:44's new EP, but the rapper's high-profile has certainly paid dividends for these Jersey boys.
