The Late Show in on quite a roll when it comes to booking top-notch hip-hop and R&B talent.
After having Flower Boy artist Tyler, The Creator to the show just a few nights ago, Colbert welcomed another young luminary to his stage last night: 6lack. Performing his track "Free," taken off his debut album Free 6lack, the R&B singer pulled off a very soulful, emotional performance with the help of a live band.
Also on display was his new look, rendering him almost unrecognizable from his previous television appearances. Gone were the mangled crop of dreads and headband, and in its place, close-cropped hair and a well-groomed beard to match. The new style, along with the performance, could signal a bit of a new direction for 6lack, in terms of what he looks and sounds like live.
