According to the Daily Mail, R. Kelly has reportedly hired Bill Cosby's former lawyer, Monique Pressley, to his legal team to help fight his most recent sex allegations that he’s keeping women hostage in a sex cult.
Pressley refused to comment on the case when asked, but for those unfamiliar with the D.C native, she's known for her appearances as a legal contributor across news networks. She stepped down as a member of Cosby’s legal team in his sexual assault case last August. The Pressley Firm PLLC, which she is the lead attorney of, specializes in civil litigation, crisis management, and communications.
Last week, R. Kelly’s other attorney, Linda Mensch, issued a statement on behalf of her client, denying these horrible allegations that he's running a sex cult… “Mr. Robert Kelly is both alarmed and disturbed at the recent revelations attributed to him. Mr Kelly unequivocally denies such allegations and will work diligently and forcibly to pursue his accusers and clear his name.”
The addition of Monique Pressely to R. Kelly’s legal team should definitely help his case moving forward, but time we'll only tell what happens. We’ll continue to keep you updated.
