As hard as this may be to believe, Tyler, The Creator got turned down by two big hip-hop names to appear on his new track "I Ain't Got Time."
During his conversation with Beats 1 Radio's Zane Lowe earlier today, Tyler asked both Kanye West and Nicki Minaj to participate in a verse on the song, but both declined the invite. "I remember being at Ye's during Life of Pablo [and there] was an MPC there [...] and I was like, Noah—it's his engineer—'Just start recording me.' I just started smacking, I started clapping, started making weird noises, and added a 'boom boom boom' like that, and then I'm like, I'ma just add a hook, 'I ain't got timeeeeeeeeeee for these.' I was like damn, Kanye should take this song, he would sound so much cooler saying 'I ain't got time' than me, [but] he didn't like it."
Tyler had similar luck with Nicki Minaj, who supposedly didn't really know what to do with the beat. His new album, Scum Fuck Flower Boy, is due out on July 21 and will feature A$AP Rocky, Frank Ocean and Lil Wayne.
