Issa Rae is the creator, executive producer, and star of HBO's Insecure, which finally returns to air on July 23rd, with the season two premiere. Season one received acclaim when it aired last summer, and helped Issa Rae's star rise further up, alongside her co-stars Jay Ellis (who plays her ex-boyfriend Lawrence) and Yvonne Orji (who plays Issa's BFF Molly).
This morning Issa made a return to The Breakfast Club, where she discussed the lives and tribulations of the characters in her show, and what to expect from season two specifically. Issa reveals a focus on the 'hoe phase' and discusses what that entails with the Breakfast Club trio, as well, Issa discusses her book-- which inspired the TV show, and itself, was inspired by Issa's web series-- The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl.
