"Yeah, I think that would've been the Chris Paul-to-L.A. situation."

Before the Indiana Pacers agreed to trade Paul George to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Victor Oladipo and forward Domantas Sabonis, the Pacers had reached out to Golden State about a potential deal.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Pacers were looking to deal George for Klay Thompson, but the Warriors turned them down and the talks ended there.

George recently sat down with Wojnarowski to talk about that rumored deal and confirmed that it was, in fact, discussed.

Per ESPN,

"Yeah, I think that would've been the Chris Paul-to-L.A. situation where they denied that trade," George said with a laugh, referring to the infamous Hornets-Lakers deal in 2011 that was vetoed by then-NBA commissioner David Stern.

He added,

"I would've looked forward to it, of just being in a good situation and a chance to compete for a championship," George said. "But it didn't happen. It's still fun to team up with a special talent and have a chance to compete against that team."
