According to CNBC, Martin Shkreli, former pharma power player whose legal troubles have grabbed headlines for the last few years, spent $10k on Jay-Z concert tickets at a time when his company didn't have too much more than that in the bank. Accountant Wendy Spaulding said that Shkreli had also transferred more than $1 million of Retrophin's earnings to a personal bank account in his name. Shkreli founded Retrophin in 2011.
Since the disgraced former executive has returned to the national spotlight, he's been in the middle of some interesting hip-hop news threads. His infamous winning bid for the Wu-Tang Clan album Once Upon a Time In Shaolin nearly led to him being the victim of fatal gang violence; he's also offered Kanye West $15 million to own The Life of Pablo.
