An overview of hip-hop and r'n'b album sales and chart positions.

DJ Khaled holds the #1 spot right now with Grateful, his newest release which features rap legends like Jay Z and Nas alongside newer heavyweights like Chance The Rapper and 21 Savage. The album sits at a monstrous 23 songs and nears an hour and a half of music. If you're a fan, Grateful is certainly an accurate title.

Joining Khaled in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart are: Kendrick Lamar, 2 Chainz, Drake, and Bruno Mars, with their respective releases. Post Malone, SZA, Khalid, Migos, Vince Staples, The Weeknd, and Future all hold positions in the top 20, which makes for a super solid week for hip hop releases. Young Thug's BEAUTIFUL THUGGER GIRLS drops pretty hard, though, from #8 to #23, as albums by Bryson Tiller and Playboi Carti continue to climb up towards the top 20.

...

1) DJ Khaled — Grateful: A botched EDC performance can't hold DJ Khaled back. Even if THEY don't want him to win, he still landed the #1 album in America this week with help from guests like Beyonce, Drake, Rihanna, and so many more. The album debuts with 149,127 TAEU and 49,527 sales.

2) Kendrick Lamar — DAMN.: Eleven weeks after its release, Kendrick's DAMN. is still doing extremely well, landing at #3 this week, just behind the debuts of DJ Khaled and Imagine Dragons. The album clocks 59,120 TAEU and 13,385 in physical sales this week.

3) 2 Chainz — Pretty Girls Like Trap Music: After debuting at #2, ultimately missing out on #1 due to Lorde's new album, 2 Chainz drops down to #5 this week. Pretty Girls Like Trap Music tallies 43,171 TAEU and another 10,777 copies in sales in its second week out.

4) Drake — More Life: Drizzy's More Life ranks at #8 this week. The playlist was released fifteen weeks ago. After debuting at #1, the collection hasn't strayed too far away, and this week moves 34,809 TAEU and 1,630 in sales, as it lands in the bottom half of the Billboard 200 top 10.

5) Bruno Mars — 24K Magic: Just behind Drake, at #9, is Bruno Mars with 24K Magic. The album, which has the monstrous singles "That's What I Like" and "24K Magic," counts 31,809 TAEU and 12,455 sales into its success.

6) Post Malone — Stoney: Post Malone's debut album has been quite successful for the overnight sensation, and despite only peaking at #6, it has floated around the top 20 since its release 29 weeks ago. This week it lands at #11, with 28,182 TAEU and 1,753 sales counted.

7) SZA — CTRL: The highly anticipated album from TDE's resident songstress hasn't disappointed. After debuting at #3 three weeks ago, the album currently holds real estate in the #12 position, clocking 27,809 TAEU and 6,373 sales towards SZA's success and the TDE empire.

8) Khalid — American Teen: Khalid's American Teen is at #14 this week. 9) Migos — Culture: The ATLien trio comes in at #15 this week with Culture, their latest album. The "Bad and Boujee" LP clocks 24,851 TAEU and 2,160 sales as it climbs up just one spot from last week's stint at #16.

10) Vince Staples — Big Fish Theory: Debuting at #16 is Vince Staples with Big Fish Theory. The album, which treads what seems like outlier hip-hop territory, snagged a position in the top 20, moving 24,555 TAEU and 14,039 in pure sales in its first week out.

On the Billboard Hot 100: "Despacito" remains at #1, continuing the dominance as the uncontested song of the summer by Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, and Justin Bieber. DJ Khaled holds place for the #2 and #3 songs with "I'm The One" and "Wild Thoughts" respectively, although he has six songs total on the Hot 100. Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, and Future all hold positions in the latter half of the top 10.
