If you didn't know who New York Giants punter Brad Wing was before, you do now. The 26-year-old NFL player has earned an enviable Nicki Minaj shoutout on Calvin Harris' "Skrt On Me," but it didn't happen out of the blue. A few weeks back, Wing caught Nicki's attention with an Instagram post in which he participated in the #NickiMinajChallenge, referencing her recent Prague flex in a post where he boasted about his jogging routine. "Half of you can't even spell six miles" *@nickiminaj voice*," he wrote.
After seeing the post, Nicki slid into the comments section and promised a shoutout on June 30th, as Genius points out.
As promised, "Skrt On Me" arrived on Calvin Harris' Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1 on Friday, and Brad Wing's name was used as a punchline, which Nicki highlighted on Twitter.
Clearly a huge fan of the rapper, Wing was very honored and entertained by the name drop. He posted a reaction video to the line on Instagram praising the "Queen of rap" for giving some cred to his position. "Punting just became cool," he wrote.
Listen to "Skrt On Me" and the rest of Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1. Nicki is currently preparing her fourth studio album, which she feels is the best work she's done yet.
