The Big3 League finally tipped off their inaugural season last night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and it featured a couple of buzzer beaters, a handful of injuries and Allen Iverson's return to the court.
Unfortunately, A.I. didn't get too many minutes and scored just two points on 1-of-6 shooting, although his team, 3's Company, did pick up a win over Brian Scalabrine's Ball Hogs. Iverson said fans shouldn't expect to see him on the court all that much moving forward.
Rashard Lewis' game-winning free throw gave his 3 Headed Monsters squad a 62-60 over Mike Bibby's Ghost Ballers, DeShawn Stevenson drilled a game-winning three for Power, and Kenyon Martin's Trilogy picked up a 60-45 win over Killer 3's.
Jason Williams Corey Maggette, Kenyon Martin and Rashad McCants all suffered injuries in the season opener but all are reportedly expected to be ready for next Sunday's action.
Some of the notable stat lines include:
Rashard Lewis: 27 points (1 4-pointer shot), 9 rebounds
Andre Owens: 29 points, 15 boards, 5 assists
Reggie Evans: 18 points, 12 rebounds
Ricky Davis: 23 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals
All of the games will air tonight on Fox Sports 1 at 8pm EST.
