During last night's NBA Draft, the Chicago Bulls traded Jimmy Butler and the #16 pick to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn and the 7th overall pick.
Butler, who spent his first six seasons in Chicago including three All-Star selections, will now be reunited with his old coach Tom Thibodeau as part of a young Wolves squad starring Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns.
Jimmy's trainer had some harsh words for Bulls GM Gar Forman immediately after the trade was announced, but Butler finds himself in a much better basketball situation now with the Wolves' young core.
After allowing the move to settle in, Butler has taken to instagram today to thank the city of Chicago, the entire Bulls organization and their fans.
"I truly struggle with the words because you've been so much more than just my home for the last 6 years, you've been my life!"
"You always pushed me to never give anything less than my absolute best night in, night out. That's what you expected. That's what you deserved. And, I hope you know that's what I dedicated my life to every time I walked into the facility or stepped on the floor of the United Center."
