Big Boi's sound has always been unique, and nowhere has that been more apparent than on his new album Boomiverse. The LP was projected to hit between 20,000 and 25,000 in sales and streaming numbers, so it's been a positive re-entry in the mainstream hip-hop market so far for the former Outkast member.
Big Boi sat down with the hots of The Breakfast Club to discuss his new album and whether or not his sound has always been so non-adhesive to current sonic trends in rap. "Absolutely man. Since the days of Outkast [...] we always wanted to do what everybody else wasn't. It's all just to keep reinventing yourself and you've got to evolve every time you make music."
"Mic Jack" and "Kill Jill" have already done well as singles and I suspect Boomiverse will have a very healthy replay value for the rest of this year and beyond.
