O.J. Simpson is one step closer to leaving prison.
According to a report from TMZ, the former NFL star could be out of jail as early as October 1st, with a parole hearing date se for July 20th. He will not attend the hearing in person, but will instead be video-conferenced in from the Lovelock Correctional Center in Nevada.
The 69-year-old future could see him on the other side of that prison fence sooner than expected. He was arrested in 2007 on several armed robbery and kidnapping charges after he stole some sports memorabilia items from a Las Vegas hotel room. His conviction went down in 2008 and was sentenced to 33 years in prison, with the eligibility for parole after 9 years. Has has been locked up since then.
