Over his career, DJ Khaled has already worked with a impressive amount of hip-hop and pop royalty. Yet, there's one name that he's always wanted to work with that he's never gotten a "yes" from. That man is Eminem.
In a recent interview to promote his upcoming album Grateful, Khaled admitted he's been turned down by Em before, but he's not giving up now. "I never got a chance to work with Eminem," he said. "I have tried before, but I’m gonna try again. But this time when I try again, I’m gonna make sure I have the right record. I don’t think he’s telling me no. I think I just gotta come with the right presentation."
As it turns out, Khaled has gone to extremes before to get a legendary artist to collaborate with him, even so far as to moving to another city to make the arrangement more convenient. "I basically got a condo in New York City for a whole year to stay close [to Jay Z] and let him know how hungry I was for that verse," he admitted. "So I went in studio every day. He was recording his album and I appreciate him letting me be around and capture that greatness, but at and at the same time I was hustling too [...]"
Hov already hopped on DJ Khaled's track "Shining" with his wife Beyoncé, so that leaves Eminem as an elusive get for the Miami producer. Fingers crossed that this happens down the road!
