Ariana Grande is being bestowed "honorary citizenship" by the city of Manchester.

After the horrible May 22nd attacks at Grande's concert in Manchester. She was quick to respond to the tragedy with love and an open heart. Within two weeks she'd organized a star-studded benefit concert that included Miley Cyrus, Coldplay, and Mac Miller among others. Together they were able to raise almost $4 million for the families of the victims. It was also the most watched broadcast on British television this year.

Manchester's city council is putting forth a new system to recognize outstanding contributions to the city and Grande is said to top the list for receiving the honor. According to the BBC,  Manchester council leader Sir Richard Leese has said many people would already consider Grande to be "an honorary Mancunian."

"This seems a fitting moment to update the way we recognize those who make noteworthy contributions to the life and success of our city. We've all had cause to be incredibly proud of Manchester and the resilient and compassionate way in which the city, and all those associated with it, have responded to the terrible events of 22 May - with love and courage rather than hatred and fear."

Ariana Grande has "exemplified this response," he added.

The council is to review the plans put forth on July 12.
