Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor have allegedly signed a contract for the much-anticipated boxing match, according to reporter Joe Biggs, whose business partner is David Niño Rodriguez, a former heavyweight that is close with the Mayweather camp.
The Nevada Athletic Commission had an agenda item on its Wednesday meeting calendar to consider a request by Mayweather Promotions for an August 26th fight date at MGM Grand.
However, as news of this August 26th date spread, Mayweather Promotions reportedly verbally retracted the request, but that could change again before tomorrow morning's meeting.
Whether the welterweight bout takes place on August 26th or sometime later in 2017, it certainly seems as though the fight is imminent and that an official announcement could be made any day now.
As of now, Mayweather (49-0) is an overwhelming favorite at Vegas Sportsbooks sitting at -800, while McGregor is currently listed at +500.
