Following an outburst at a recent show on her SSS tour where a fan screamed out "Kyrie," Kehlani wants to show the world just how okay she is with how she handled it.
In a post to her Instagram account earlier today, the SweetSexySavage singer wrote, "after a year of being tormented, harassed, people sending me death threats/showing up to festivals in jerseys throwing shit at me and chanting names [...] I finally stood up for myself. After a year of depression and therapy, moving away to a new city because of it, i FINALLY STOOD UP FOR MYSELF. [...] It felt good as hell to do what I did, so bring on whatever you want because I'm proud of myself, my team is proud of me, my mom is proud of me [...] oh... and you couldnt last a day in my shoes."
The post is, in large part, a response to the ongoing Kehlani-Kyrie Irving-PARTYNEXTDOOR drama that fans continue to harp on. The public taunts that were launched in her direction prompted Kehlani to delete her Instagram account for a while, even though she supposedly made peace with the Cavaliers point guard. After an alleged suicide attempt at the height of the vitriol, it's nice to see the R&B songstress back on track.
