While Nicki Minaj has been busy sparring with Remy Ma in a beef that never seems to end, the superstar has also been focusing on what propelled her into the spotlight in the first place - music. Minaj has been hard at work on her fourth studio album, the follow-up to 2014's The Pinkprint. In the newly released full interview with Whoo Kid, Minaj talks about the album's direction, which appears to be a return to her roots.
Minaj states she aims to make a "classic hip-hop album that people will never forget." When pressed about features, Whoo Kid easily gets Minaj to confirm the appearances of "guaranteed homies" Lil Wayne & Drake, and inquires about whether or not Dr. Dre is on her radar.
"Oh wow," says Minaj. "I never thought about that, but you know what? That's a dope idea. Of course I worked with Em on my first album, and of course I love Em...That would be nice, that would be beautiful."
While Minaj doesn't give a release date, it's reassuring to know that the queen is back to focusing on music, rather than extraneous endeavors. And while Dre has been a little reclusive when it comes to production these days, maybe he'll come through to bless Nicki with one of his signature bangers.
