"They have a lot of good players. I just think they need a leader at point guard."

Today the Los Angeles Lakers held their pre-draft workout with former UCLA star freshman Lonzo Ball, who they will presumably take with the #2 overall pick in the June 22nd NBA Draft.

With his $495 Big Baller Brand ZO2 Prime sneakers still in production, the 6'6, 19-year old point guard opted for the Adidas Harden Vol. 1 for today's workout, which also included a Q&A with reporters.

And without his father LaVar around, Lonzo finally got to answer some questions for himself including why he thinks the Lakers should draft him.

According to NBC LA's Shahan Ahmed, Lonzo told reporters,

“They need a leader. They need a point guard. I feel like I can play that role.”

Of course, the Lakers selected point guard D'Angelo Russell with the #2 overall pick just two years ago but there's hope that he can play off the ball in the Lakers backcourt along with Lonzo. Not to mention, Jordan Clarkson is also still on LA's roster.

Check out some of Lonzo's comments from today's workout below.
