Earlier today, it was announced that Chicago's first son of hip-hop, Chance the Rapper, will receive the Humanitarian Award presented by Walmart at this year's BET Awards. It's yet another accolade for the Coloring Book rapper who has been a force in the global community as well as behind the microphone.
Chano not only worked alongside President Barack Obama on My Brother's Keeper Challenge, an initiative that aimed to help intervene in the lives of young men of color, but he also pledged to donate $1 million to Chicago public schools, a move that led the NBA's Chicago Bulls to take action as well.
The BET Awards show, hosted by Leslie Jones, will air on Sunday, June 25th.
