Kevin Hart, the actor and comedian who's taken Hollywood by storm over the last half-decade, will cover the latest issue of Variety and be profiled by the magazine as well.
In the intimate interview, Hart opened up about issues not normally spoken about by the star, such as his difficult upbringing with a drug-addicted father. "He didn’t escape any of it — jail, drugs, addictions, ruining your family to a point where my mom didn’t want me and my brother to be around him," Hart said. "Seeing the stuff firsthand [and] what it can really do to a person, that’s why I don’t do drugs. I learned what I shouldn’t be doing from what my dad did."
Hart is also inspiring other actors to step up their game, such as Jack Black while they were working together on a Jumanji reboot. "I raised my game a couple of notches out of the intimidation factor," said Black. "He’s a king of the industry [...] when someone is on fire, at the peak of their powers, you feel like you have to earn your spot."
