It turns out you can teach an old dog a new trick in the hip-hop world.
Wyclef Jean, fresh off the February release of his latest album J'Ouvert, was a performer at this weekend's Ship Show music festival, which took place on the USS Hornet, a historic military aircraft carrier that has been retired from active duty.
In a video posted to Instagram, Wyclef can be seen rapping to rabid fans while holding onto the side of a speaker truss. He's balancing while several meters up in the air, with the tricky part being him climbing down after without dropping the mic in the process. Check out a clip below.
The Ship Show festival, the first-ever "floating" hip-hop festival that was held in the Bay Area, featured performances from Wiz Khalifa, Wu-Tang Clan, YG, Jeremih, DMX and many more. Normally, the USS Hornet is used as a museum that " [...] connects the greatest generation of Americans with future generations, educating and inspiring them to meet their challenges."
