Magic Johnson and the Los Angeles Lakers hold the #2 pick in the upcoming NBA Draft and all signs point to them selecting UCLA's star freshman point guard Lonzo Ball.
Magic has said that Lonzo's boisterous father LaVar won't impact their decision and during a recent interview on ESPN radio's 'Afternoons with Marcellus and Kelvin,' Magic compared LaVar to Kris Jenner. But in a good way.
Magic says,
"The Kardashians, we didn't say the mom was bad. She made them a lot of money, right? She bragged on her daughters. And I think it's the same here. He's saying, 'hey, my son is great.'"
"There's nothing bad with that. We're not looking at LaVar being a problem if we're blessed to have an opportunity to draft Lonzo."
LaVar has been confident from the jump that Lonzo will be wearing purple and gold in the NBA next season to the point that Lonzo won't even be working out for the team with the #1 pick, the Boston Celtics.
In regards to Lonzo, Magic Johnson added,
"This young man has been a champion, in high school, and then he's gone on to have a stellar career at UCLA, and his father was talking at that time, but it didn't bother him. So as long as it doesn't bother him, it's not going to bother the Laker organization, as long as Lonzo performs on the basketball court, right?"
