The "Fall For Your Type" star needed some help to get over his vices.

Jamie Foxx was supposedly on the fast track to career self-destruction after he made the movie Ray - that is, until Oprah had something to say about it.

In an interview on The Howard Stern Show, the singer and The Academy Award-winning actor confessed that he was "drinking and partying way too much back in 2005" when Oprah scared him straight.

According to Foxx, the Queen of Daytime called him up and said, among other things, that "[...] all of this gallivanting and all this kind of s*** that's not what you want to do. I want to take you somewhere."

Jamie then met Oprah at Quincy Jones' house after that call where Sidney Poitier and other veteran black Hollywood stars assembled to help push him toward getting sober and living in a more responsible way.
