The Golden State Warriors are NBA Finals bound for the third straight season after last night's Game 4 victory over the Spurs, making them the first team in NBA history to start the post-season 12-0. Additionally, the Warriors are the only team in NBA history to sweep three best-of-7 series in the same post-season.
In the 129-115 victory, Steph Curry passed passed Kobe Bryant (292) for 5th on the NBA's all-time playoff 3-pointers list - he currently has 295.
Gregg Popovich had nothing but praise for the entire Warriors organization from top to bottom after the sweep, telling reporters,
"They were fantastic," Popovich said, via ESPN. "You know, to all of them, from ownership, to Bob [Myers], to Steve [Kerr], Mike and the whole staff. The whole group. The players, obviously. [They] play a great brand of basketball. Fun to watch. They were fantastic. They did it with class, so hats off to them."
Obviously, the Warriors now await the finish of the Eastern Conference Finals which the Cavs currently lead 2-1. Game 4 of that series is tonight in Cleveland at 8:30pm.
The NBA Finals will get underway on June 1st at Oracle Arena, regardless of who comes out of the East.
