"I don’t think it was a suicide."

Aaron Hernandez's fiancee Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez made an appearance on Dr. Phil yesterday to discuss her relationship with Aaron and the days leading up to his suicide, including her final conversation with him.

During the interview, Shayanna also claimed she still doesn't believe Hernandez committed suicide in his jail cell, despite what the official reports state and the handwritten notes that were left behind.

"It’s just not the Aaron that I know," she said. "I think that if he would have done something like this, it would have been at his worst, and I felt like it was looking so bright. I don’t think it was a suicide."

Shayanna told Dr. Phil that Hernandez was in a good place after being acquitted on double murder charges, and recalled the final conversation she had with him before he took his life.

"That would make me doubt that he took his own life," she told Dr. Phil.

"He was very positive, so excited to come home. I spoke to him the night before they say this incident happened, and he was so, 'Daddy’s going to be home,' and he’s speaking to [his 4-year-old daughter] Avielle, 'I can’t wait to sleep in the bed with you guys, and I can’t wait to just hold you and love you.' There was no indication at all of such events."

"It was a normal conversation, which makes me doubt so many things," she said. "I just know that the feedback I was getting from our last talk had nothing to do with any suicidal thoughts. But then again, I don’t know what that would be. But to me, it was completely normal."

Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez will be back on Dr. Phil today. Check out a clip from yesterday's exclusive interview below.
