Kansas City Chiefs first round draft pick, QB Patrick Mahomes, was robbed in Texas on Friday night by two men, one of whom was reportedly carrying a gun.
According to ESPN, Sgt. Darrell Coslin had this to say about the events that unfolded.
"[Mahomes] and some of his friends had been out to a baseball game earlier that evening here in Tyler." Coslin said. "After the baseball game was over, he and his friends returned to one of the residences. They had pulled into the driveway and were exiting the vehicle when a suspect pulled in behind them and blocked them in. He exited his vehicle and approached them on foot, acting as if he was armed with a handgun."
The 10th overall pick and his friends handed over their property to the suspects who then took off in their vehicle, but cops were quickly able to locate them a short distance away, as well as the belongings of Mahomes and his buddies.
5'4 Michael Blake Pinkerton, 34, was charged with aggravated robbery and held on $50k bond, while 58-year old Billy Ray Johnson was booked for evidence tampering and drug possession. No gun was recovered.
