Earlier this week on Draymond Green's "Dray Day" podcast, he took some time to look at the Eastern Conference playoffs, specifically the Boston Celtics, and even more specifically, Kelly Olynyk.
Speaking of Olynyk, and his history of "dirty plays," Draymond said,
“Kelly Olynyk is a dirty player, man.”
"He’s dirty. Dirty player, man. I don’t respect guys like that. I mean, I know he’s not like the greatest basketball player of all time, so maybe you feel like you got to like do that, but you don’t like – just dirty. Like I don’t respect that man, he dirty.”
“Kelly Olynyk is a dirty player, man,” Draymond added.
"He’s dirty. Dirty player, man. I don’t respect guys like that. I mean, I know he’s not like the greatest basketball player of all time, so maybe you feel like you got to like do that, but you don’t like – just dirty. Like I don’t respect that man, he dirty.”
The irony of those comments, the pot calling the kettle black, was not lost on Olynyk's teammate Isaiah Thomas.
Speaking to reporters yesterday, Thomas said it's a joke that Green called someone else a dirty player.
“I don’t know how (Green) can call anybody dirty,” Thomas said. “It is what it is. Everybody’s got a comment or something to say. That’s all it is… It’s a joke that (Green) said that. The playoffs, everything somebody says is blown out of proportion. Everything somebody does is blown out of proportion as well. We can’t worry about what others are doing or saying.”
