Two of the biggest rappers in The South are currently behind bars. Last week brought guilty verdicts against both Kodak Black -- who's been locked up since February -- and Kevin Gates, who was jailed in October. A few days after Future tweeted words of encouragement for both artists, Young Thug has now expressed his support for Kevin Gates. For reasons unknown, Thug referred to the Baton Rouge rapper as "the other Max B."
"Free the other Max B," Thugger captioned a post showing Gates' latest mugshot. Thug also issued a "very genuine fuck" to the law.
The connection between Gates and Max B -- who's been imprisoned since 2009 -- is unclear, aside from both artists being locked up. Last year, French Montana revealed that the Wave God's prison time had been cut from a possible 75 years to a sentence of two to six years.
Pleading guilty to an outstanding weapons charge (from 2013), Gates was sentenced to 30 more months in prison last week. The verdict was given as he had just finished up his sentence for the battery charge that originally sent him to jail.
