According to various reports online, including Pitchfork & Complex, it appears Chance The Rapper has filed a lawsuit in Illinois to protect the selling of fake merchandise on his upcoming tour.
The lawsuit doesn’t have any direct names attached to it, but is being utilized to discourage future bootleggers from trying to make money off his name. The suit gives the Chicago rapper a claim at “injunctive and monetary relief” against anyone who may bootleg merchandise. All in all, it's a smart move. He’s protecting his pockets and making sure he receives all the proper earnings while on tour, especially since he's independent and needs every last dollar to be put back into the tour.
The tour itself kicks off next week in San Diego. In case you missed it, peep dates for it here if interested.
